Skincare Ingredients - Baobab
More information and other product collections
Baobab trees are native to the African savannah. They only grow in areas of more than 500 mm rainfall per year and can reach about 25 m height. Their trunk supports great spongiform appendages that store water, which is how they have adapted perfectly to life in a dry land.
Baobab means "tree of life" in some African languages, and its fruit, seeds and leaves are used by local people for their food and medicinal properties.
The pulp, rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, is used to feed infants and livestock. Antioxidants such as Vitamin C soothe the skin and reduce wrinkles.
Potassium, magnesium and calcium bring back elasticity to tissue, making it good for anti-wrinkle treatments.
Baobab help reduce stretch marks, acne scars, and blemishes. Baobab is also good for anti-ageing treatments because it reduces the appearance of wrinkles and signs of ageing in the skin.
