Hazelnut

Hazelnut oil is liquid extracted from a hazelnut by a machine called a pre-press. It’s commonly used for cooking and to make cosmetics.

But hazelnut oil can also be used as a skin care product. It’s loaded with vitamin E, which helps hydrate the skin and protect it against harmful environmental factors. It moisturises your skin and reduces water loss.

Hazelnut oil is rich in oleic acid and linoleic acid, both of which help protect the surface of the skin from moisture loss because they preserve sebum production by maintaining the stability of cell membranes' outer layer and prevent water loss from the human epidermal barrier.

Hazelnut oil is also said to have astringent properties, which means that because of this ingredient's high levels of fatty acids, it helps the skin to maintain its elasticity and firmness. The high amount of vitamin E in hazelnut oil effectively fights free radicals that are known for oxidising the lipid layer that protects our skin cells, thus preventing wrinkles.

It can be used as a massage oil to nourish the skin or applied on face and neck after cleansing.

Hazelnut oil is a light, non-greasy oil with a high content of vitamin E, which makes it suitable for all skin types. It is rich in essential fatty acids that help promote healthy skin.

Due to its slight astringent properties, hazelnut oil may also be helpful in tightening pores and reducing facial redness from rosacea flare-ups.
