Paraben-free Cosmetics

Plenty of new ideas and technologies are emerging at the moment. Every now and then, we hear about eco food, eco-products, and many more things described as being “eco-“. Yet it can be hard to distinguish a marketing strategy to sell as many products as possible from actual information about quality products.

Here, we will take a look at the famous phrase “paraben-free” and uncover the deeper meaning behind these words.

WHAT ARE PARABENS AND WHY ARE THEY HARMFUL?

The word “Parabens” refers to a whole range of preservatives, widely used in the cosmetic industry, in lotions, shampoos, and in make-up products. There are several types of parabens, such as methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, isopropylparaben, and isobutylparaben.

Without parabens, products would go bad quite quickly. Who wants to see fungus, bacteria, or rotten substances in their cream or lotion? Parabens can also cause eczema. Some studies say that we should not avoid all parabens, but should be cautious about certain types and using large quantities. Still, using them can lead to

  • Scientists believe that parabens get absorbed by body tissues and fluids – so they stay inside. Some researchers have detected them in breast milk, serums, urine, and seminal fluid.
  • There is a hypothesis that parabens and breast cancer are linked. Underarm deodorants with harmful ingredients are especially dangerous.
  • Some studies say that parabens are xenoestrogens. This means that they can mimic the hormone estrogen in your body.
  • Some types of parabens, like butylparaben and propylparaben, can cause high estrogenic activity.
  • Parabens can elevate UV exposure damage, which leads to skin cancer in some cases.
  • Ethylparaben may cause severe allergic reactions.

PARABEN-FREE BRANDS

Due to the reasons stated above, many companies are producing paraben-free products to provide safe and high-quality services to their clients. There are too many of them to list below, so here are just a few of them.

The oil feels light and aims to hydrate your skin, filling it with strength and a natural glow. Botanical oils nurture pores and erase imperfections, letting your skin breathe. Kosas use avocado, green tea seed, jojoba, meadowfoam, red raspberry, and rosehip oils to produce these great results.

2. Absolution Sweet and Safe Mascara

With the help of Absolution products, your lashes will receive the care they deserve. The mascara separates and lengthens them, along with making them thicker. Each lash is covered without any clumping.

The special design of the brush allows it to cover even the smallest lashes. It contains Beeswax and Carnauba wax with Abyssinian oil – quite a rare product on the make-up market. That is why this mascara not only creates a distinctive visual effect but also nourishes your lashes and makes them healthier on the inside.

3. Kjaer Weis Eye Shadows

4.

These lipsticks come in several different hues, from light and pale to rich, deep wine colour. Not only do Ellis Faas lipsticks stay on your lips for the whole day, but they also hydrate and smooth them. The lipstick uses a special kind of sponge to fully cover your lips.

This company is fond of vitamin E, candelilla Wax, and prune seed extract, and adds them to their products for more quality. The lipstick has no scent, so it is perfect even for people with allergies. It is also lightweight and lays perfectly on the lips.

SOME FINAL THOUGHTS

The harm that parabens can cause is still being researched. This problem has not been very well-researched yet; nevertheless, there are plenty of warning signs when it comes to products with parabens.

Your health is not something to be tight-fisted or lazy about. It is much better to care about your skin and hair since day one and keep yourself beautiful, glowing with happiness, and admiring your charming reflection in the mirror.

Be careful when buying cosmetics, and always have a good look at their ingredients. We wish you a nice day!
